All Ants in Build An Ant Empire — Rarity List & Rolls
The full Build An Ant Empire ant roster by rarity tier, from Common workers to Divine rarities, with how egg rolls, Egg Luck and the Ant Queen decide what you get.
Every ant in Build An Ant Empire comes from the same pipeline: the Ant Queen produces eggs, you pay to roll them, and the result lands somewhere on a seven-step rarity ladder that the community maps as Common → Rare → Epic → Legendary → Mythic → Exotic → Divine. This page explains how that ladder works, which rarities actually change your income, and how the roll system decides what hatches — the reference list for every other guide on this site.
How you get ants: the Ant Queen
The Ant Queen is the gacha engine of the colony. By default she produces a single basic egg type; you purchase rolls, she hatches them, and out comes an ant whose rarity is rolled by chance. Two upgrade lines bend those odds over time:
- Egg Luck — improves the probability weight of rarer outcomes on each roll.
- Egg Rolls — increases your roll capacity, letting you mass-hatch when you have Cash to burn.
The game does not publish official roll percentages. Any exact numbers you see on fan sites are estimates — treat them as directional, and trust what your own rolls show.
The rarity ladder
Community tracking organizes the roster into seven tiers. From bottom to top:
| Tier | What it means for your colony |
|---|---|
| Common | Starter workers; slow Food income, replaced quickly |
| Rare | First meaningful income jump; early-game workhorses |
| Epic | Mid-game earners (community favorites include Football Ant and Pumpkin Ant) |
| Legendary | Strong multipliers; a colony built around them sustains heavy reinvestment |
| Mythic | Top-tier pulls (Flying Saucer Ant is the community’s famous example) |
| Exotic | Near the ceiling; Planet Ant is the best-known example |
| Divine | The rarest bracket community trackers recognize |
Two honest caveats. First, this ladder is community-mapped — the game labels ants with rarity tags, but fan sites assembled the full ordering, and the roster grows with updates. Second, individual ant stats shift between patches, so check the in-game card for current numbers.
Known standout ants (community-reported)
A few ants the community talks about constantly, useful as pull targets while rolling:
- Flying Saucer Ant (Mythic) — the poster child of a lucky roll.
- Planet Ant (Exotic) — a near-ceiling pull many players chase.
- Football Ant and Pumpkin Ant (both Epic) — reliable mid-game earners with personality.
For how these stack up against each other in practice, see the ant tier list.
Rolling strategy: luck vs. volume
With no official odds, the practical question is whether to spend Cash on more rolls or on better luck:
- Early game: plain rolls win. Volume of Common-to-Rare ants builds your first income floor fast.
- Mid game: shift toward Egg Luck upgrades once basic rolls stop producing upgrades — see the Egg Luck guide for the break-even thinking.
- Late game: stack both, and save burst-roll sessions for right after redeeming a Cash-boost code — the boost multiplies what you earn back from a good hatch session.
Event eggs sit outside this ladder entirely — the Star Egg from the Starfall event hatches Star-family ants you cannot roll from the Queen. Keep both systems in mind when budgeting.
